Receive an inspection report detailing the strength of your home against hurricanes and recommended improvements to increase that strength.
If your inspection indicates you will benefit from adding roof to wall connections (RTW) or secondary water barrier (SWB) and you elect to have these done, then the roof replacement required to install either of these items would be covered and maximum award is $10,000 as long as you have spent $5,000 from your own funds. A roof replacement by itself would not qualify for the award.
No, if you have hurricane shutters then your inspection will indicate they are present and you would not qualify for any funding nor additional discounts from your insurance carrier.
