How To Perform A Roof Repair
Here is a Pembroke Pines roofing repair we performed recently.
Talk about an unusual location for a pipe, this job called for a creative solution.
The plumbing pipe was directed up through the center of the ridge. It’s a good thing there was no venting on this house. Because of the location of this pipe, this roof repair needed to be handled with special care.
We first removed the shingle caps along the peak. Installed roof cement around the base of the pipe along with a mesh tape. The tape provides extra strength to the roof cement that helps it to last longer. If you install the roof cement without the tape, it will start to crack quickly and cause a roof leak.
After we installed the roof cement we cut the roof caps to fit the pipe. The best way to cut shingles is to use a hook blade which is specifically designed for cutting shingles, there is nothing like it, take it from a roofer.
When we installed the shingle caps we made sure they lined up with existing shingles caps, otherwise the roofing caps would look like a mess.
